One thing tourists usually do is touch historical paintings or artifacts when visiting cultural heritage sites. Natural oils from your skin get’s transferred that degrades paintings and bronze. Touching the frescoes would harm the frescoes meaning others in the future might not be able to see it. (Be careful with camera flashes too. The light could damage clothing and tapestries.)
